Today's challenging business environment means that you must sharpen all of your skills and focus on what's important. Agreed? We'll talk about that this time in Zipline. Like Zipline? Please .
Now, let's get going.

Speak Up
This year we are getting many more inquiries than ever about open enrollment ESI's, in-house programs - that is customized content - and personal coaching for individual presentations. How do we explain this increased interest? You could speculate that it is the result of our superior marketing. Perhaps, but the real answer is far more likely to be the reality of the marketplace.
In our challenging business world today, individuals and organizations are focusing on the tools to make each person, company, or product distinguishable from the competitors. What can be done to make your product or idea more appealing? THE BEST ANSWER: create a cadre of sales and marketing executives who can add additional believability, respect and trust in the product and the organization.
In the most recent issue of Forbes magazine, William J. Holstein (Manage the Media) argues that fewer than 10% of CEO's in all industries know how to deliver a clear and compelling message. "The vast majority of CEO's are way behind the curve." I'd say this is true of so many other members of a corporation or movement as well.
Can you afford to get such a small percentage of your potential results from your executives? Business is learning that "the difference is not just the product quality, but the quality of the communicators who represents it." "The Number One Skill of the leader, manager, and salesperson is the ability to communicate more effectively with their customers, both internal and external." When we say Number One Skill, we mean it! Business is re-learning a very valuable lesson.
Ty Boyd Executive Learning Systems is supporting more individuals and organizations to sharpen their difference-making communications skills than ever. How can we help you?

Focus
How successful are you going to be in creating success in your own life today? You can do a lot by knowing the difference between two words. The first word: Urgent. Sounds pretty important to me. The second word: Important. Sounds pretty urgent to me.
Let's go back and look at definitions. Urgent is a measure of time. Important is a measure of value. Too often we are driven by things that are urgent but not necessarily important. We must know the difference between these concepts.
Time managers give us three categories of time use. The first category includes things that are both important and urgent. No need to worry about how you're going to handle them. You are going to do those things! When the labor pains are 45 seconds apart, nobody has to tell you what to do next. The second category is the really critical one. These are the things that are important but not urgent. These are the ones that make us rich, get things done that matter. The third category is made up of things that are urgent, but not important.
Which category will get your attention today? Here is the success secret: Concentrate on the things that are important but not urgent. Planning. Goal setting. Making another sales call. Getting a physical. Exercising. Those things are the high payoff things on your list today. Important...not necessarily urgent.
