What makes Ty and his faculty great teachers? How can they help you and your company improve your communication skills, using those as a gateway to growth in many other areas?
One clue lies in Ty's personality, which infuses his entire organization. People describe Ty as enormously optimistic. Highly energetic. Someone who clearly enjoys all kinds of people. Ty has such a positive view of life and its potential, journalists profiling him have asked point blank," Are you for real?" Ty is for real.
Ty Boyd was a successful radio and television broadcaster for 17 years. His career included stints substituting for Arthur Godfrey on CBS and hosting CBS's Thanksgiving Day Parade. During that time, Ty gave talks everywhere and even emceed the Miss North Carolina pageant.
"I felt it was important to be out in the public, not just in a broadcast booth," he says. "The more people I could reach in person, the more relationships I could build."
The day came when Ty had to choose between two booming careers-- speaking and broadcasting. He chose speaking. "You're so much closer to your audience," Ty says. "A successful speaking engagement is really a dialogue, and that's what I loved."
